Dropping fuel tanks is pretty easy... getting the new one installed is where most people run into problems... make sure you have at least 1-2 ppl to help you out for the install...

sounds like a fun project if you are in the dallas tx area and need a hand i dont mind helping and have a good set of tools as well.

I would love to take you up on that, but I'm in MI. For the gas it would cost me, I could pay a shop.

Bump for a little help...

I will be replacing my tank sometime this week. I found a used one at a junkyard for 65 bucks! :-D Just gotta run the fuel down pretty low to do it.

My question is, are the fuel pumps a common problem with our trucks? I have 93xxx miles on my truck and don't seem to be having any problems with the fuel pump. But I figured while I have the tank off, if they commonly go bad, I might as well throw a new one on it...
I hope to just reuse the original fuel pump, with the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" just would like to hear everyone's opinion.
