You COULD always try a fluid and filter change, but I doubt that would do anything for you.

Was pretty sure I responded to this earlier and now I don't see my post.. hmmm..
What I said was.. It's a 2002 with a 4.7 and 4x4. I say 03 because I get the wrong parts sometimes.

I will be checking around for a cost on a rebuild. I changed my fluid and filters inside the pan about 25k ago so I can't imagine it's the problem. Fluid is full and smells and feels like the day I put it in. I have heard that there is a filter in the return hose. Unless I am just not looking in the right spot, I don't see one.

So OReiley says that the canister filter in the pan is the inline filter..
I have found a local (25 miles away) trans shop that gave me a quote of $1400 installed and lifetime warranty.. A two year trans rebuild is $1150. I plan to visit the facility and hang out for awhile and see how they do business..
