Mine would blink after my recirc door broke. The hvac panel was not defective, the system goes through a check every 10 or 20 starts, and if a actuator motor spins freely, it will trip the flashing light which, unfortunately, renders the heated mirror button inoperative. After I replaced the recirc door last year, I have had no problems. Best to check that door first as it's the easiest to get to.

since were talkn bout mirros i was looking to get the tow mirros. i have power mirrors that have the lil heat sign on them but i have no switch in truck for heat. are mine not heat? do i still buy power/heat tow or manual?
edit nevermind i found another post that answer my question
Solid Rear Window-available with defrost or no defrost.
Sliding Rear Window-avaliable with no defrost only.
If you have the defrost button on your HVAC control panel and you have the sliding window, then the defrost is just for the mirrors.
