Hemi smokes under load/acceleration
Mr. Izero,
Now that's what I call good advice, especially talking injectors. I never had put that idea together about the farthest away having the best flow. Sadly, as far as we know now, the injectors could be fine and an O-ring could have gone bad causing the lean conditions. The flow test will tell. The pushrods are perfect, they were replaced with bigger ones when I replaced the valve springs with the Bee Hive springs, I got the whole kit. I would have gone forged pistons on this, but I am broke again, and they get spendy real quick, especially for the ones I want. Friggin job dried up two weeks ago. AAARGH.
Any thoughts on the rod bolt replacement? Are the A.R.P. bolts worth it? Or are there others I should look at?
Thanks,
Dan

no problem.
ARPs are nice... but if you had a headgasket problem and wanted to use ARPs, I'd have the mating surfaces decked by a thousandth of an inch to make sure you are gaining the full benefit from the ARPs... if you don't have the $ for that then just use the OEMs and save the $ for stuff later down the road.
Whenever I rebuild an engine I like to replace all the fasteners just to be safe, b/c they stretch and wear differently depending on the mileage, maintenance and what the truck is used for.
Bearings are always a must to replace, and the head bolts are also a must replace for me.
