Default someone please help me ASAP!

2006 ram 1500 4x4slt 5.7 hemi..Please help guys..the other day i went to go to work and my truck was locked in limp mode(only had 3rd gear even when taking off) then my check engine light came one..it was also very cold out..read the codes with my diablosport and they said p0700 p0876 and another code that i cant remember but it was 4th gear ratio..when i leave work in the evenings when it has warmed up to bout 35-40 degrees it isnt in limp mode..it will shift but not flawlessly..seems like it will upshift then downshift real quick..my buddy said my governor pressure solenoid in my tranny is prolly feeezing up on me..he said its a normal problem with these trannys..he said to buy new filter and the solenoid and also the governor pressure sensor while im in there..i was going to change all this tomorrow but i wanna make sure its the problem...any input would be appreciated.

P700 is a generic transmission problem code.
These transmissions also lock out overdrive, until a certain temp us reached as well. So this is what you might be seek g if its particularly cold where you live and your only doing short journeys so the tricks not warming up.
Also, when was your last transmission service?
Is the fluid levels ok etc.

Yes the fluid level is good..and ive had the truck for bout 8k miles and ive never serviced the transmission and i doubt it ever has been..it only has 74k miles on it..i though bout changing the fluid and new sump filter and screw on filter in the tranny and see if that fixes it but if it dont i gotta drain it again to change the solenoid...this.morning it was 25 degrees again and i let it warm up for a few min before i left and it didnt go into limp mode! First time in 4 days..it still shifter up to 3rd to soon but immediately downshifted to 2nd and then shifted flawlessly..i drove it bout 8 miles and by the time i got to work it was shifting perfect..u think maybe it could be the sump filter? Maybe the o ring on it is bad??

could be the solenoid try and pull codes again, especially that one you cant remember. there are procedures for testing solenoids without removing them. just need to know which one to test. i have never heard of the governor pressure solenoid freezing, cause hell the fluid would freeze too. when you drop the pan look for a place to place a drain plug in it. this will make servicing the tranny easier. im all for fluid and filter changes but go against the companies sucking the fluid out via dipstick tube. my .02 cents. i still have to replace the solenoid on my durango FML

Debating on changing both the filters and fluid and hoping it fixes it..if not ill drain it again nd change the solenoid..bad thing is i waste the 7qts of fluid but if it does fix it i save the $200 for the sensor and solenoid..decisions decisions

Sorry I didn't get back to you bud. Been ill.

So glad this turned around for you!
That's usually the first place to start when having trouble, changing fluid and filters etc.
Did you put a drain plug on that pan when you did it?
Really worth doing.
Al.
