You might want to invest in the valve spring tool, and a very nice torque wrench, and study that service manual... or buy yourself a brand name service manual that will show you step by step how to do the entire job...

Personally if I had those kind of compression numbers I'd be worried about some kind of piston damage... you might want to consider pulling the head as well just so you can inspect those cylinders and pistons...

Just my thought, this kind of work is not for the faint of heart... double and triple check everything before you button it all up.

I second the statement about getting the 6.1L Hemi Valve Springs...

Make sure you check your pushrods as well... don't want to be dealing with bent/damaged pushrods on reinstallation.

and my last tip is to have 3 boxes of zip lock bags (2 small sandwich bags and one large box of freezer bags) that way you can label and keep everything organized.

The right side back cylinder that was showing 60psi I did a wet compression test and it still showed up as 60psi so I think I am in the clear with the air getting past the ring. I took the valve cover off and spotted the the following picture.

I noticed that the gap on this one wasn't as thick as the other good springs and was wondering if it could be bent or I circled what looks to be like a break in the spring but i wasn't able to get in there enough to check and see if it was actually broken or not. Thoughts?

another question should i replace the push rods also? and the area where the valve springs are is dirty/gunky as hell anyway to safely clean it out besides removing the head?

if you have the spare $ it prolly wouldn't hurt to replace them just in case they are in-fact bent or worn....

That is really your call though.

And that last picture doesn't look as bad as the other one...

Just make sure you are prepared to replace valves if need be... never know what you might find once you get in there.

Take lots of pictures!

This isn't my daily driver so it's just sitting in the garage and have time to pull it all apart lol.

And I am taking a bunch of pictures and plan on writing up a How-To for this project seeing how I couldn't find one. I found lots of helpful threads but not a main thread

Sorry. Springs will run around 80 and rods should be less than 20. You can get them at any dealer or use the parts manual in my signature to get the part numbers and order online from any website
