I've never really needed an excuse to wander around a hardware store.

You'll need to go to the dealer or a locksmith. I believe the locksmith has a handheld device that reads the RF signal off the key that is already programmed in order to program the 2nd one. Not 100% on how they do it though.

If you buy a key online and Ace Hardware miscuts it, then your screwed.
If you buy a key online and have it cut you still need to find someone to program it. I believe locksmiths charge $60 for those keys and not sure if they program them for free?? I think they charge another $25 or so to program them. Might wanna call and ask this way you can buy online and have them cut and program and save a few bucks.

Smile New key from ACE Hardware

I too wanted to get a second key as i only received one when i got the truck.

Ordered a key with remote lock/unlock key from EBAY for $60, went to Home Depot couple of weeks ago and the guy behind the counter said they could even cut it.

Went to the ACE Hardware store today evening got the EBAY ordered key cut and also got a new transponder key (A-CHRY300) which works great for $79.99

Going to program the remote lock/unlock key tomorrow.

08HEMI1500, thank you for suggesting ACE Hardware....saved me a trip to the dealership

YOU can only program a 2nd Key if you currently have 2 programmed keys. If you only have 1 key you have to have a dealer or have a Locksmith or similar program it.
This is why I made a spare immediately.

On my 3 Dodges, I bought a chipped, non-remote key from Ebay for about $20 and had Walmart cut them. This way if I lose or destroy a key, I still have 2 working keys.

08Hemi1500, pop the door panel off and put the lock rod back on. Remove the 2 screws and inside door handle (T-30 or 10mm socket I think) and lift the panel straight up. Unplug the power switched and your in. Should save you a headache later down the road.

Oh yea I know how to fix the manual lock problem I just haven't had the time. Maybe I'll try for today. So that key works in the 08? Honestly I could do without the remote start. But I would still like to retain the remote lock/unlock but if I can get a key that will start the truck and unlock the door manually I'll be happy, that way I can tuck away my factory key for safe keeping

Did you ever have any luck getting the key fob programmed?
