Default Bigger Mag Tek diff cover or Eaton Tru Trac??

I gotta delima......Im gonna be getting 4.56 gears in a few weeks. I have a $2000 budget. I was quoted at $1985 for front and rear Motto 4.56 gears and master install kits, and a Eaton tru trac in the rear. I want to get the mag tek rear diff cover......But that will take me to about $2250. But I also want a limited slip. Now I was thinking I could get the factory limited slip for $250 less than the Eaton. That would bring my final price down to about $1725. Which would give me enough savings to also get the Mag Tek diff cover.....So which way would you guys go??? Eaton Tru Trac and no fancy diff cover......Or the factory posi and a fancy diff cover??? I only plan on keeping the truck for 4 more years and I will be doing some towing once or twice a year of around 5500lbs.

If you go with factory LSD you will damn sure need that mag cover to catch all the metal when clips break . Kidding aside I wouldn't take a free stock LSD never mind pay for one. Mine failed at 40,000 . The way I look at it dodge should b paying for everyons failed LSD . Total garbage !!!!!

Don't replace junk with junk. I have the tru trac and its amazing. Just wait and buy the cover later. It has an o-ring seal and is super easy to install anyway.

My factory LS is still tight as ever at 66K miles. In your case, I would go ahead and get the Eaton unit. Then, you can save up for the cover and install it when you change the fluid after break-in. You will have to pull the cover anyway to flush out all of the break-in shavings and such.
