Default 2008 dodge ram 1500

So, I have an 08' dodge ram 1500 and having issues with it!! Once it's warmed up and ready to go it doesn't go into gear for about another ten mins after being warmed up. Whyyyy is this!?
2nd issue- it starts and drives but randomly has a fit and stalls out! It will kind of bog and then all lights come on and she's out! How do I fix these problems!?

We need to know what engine you have, any trouble codes you have showing, and any mods that have been done to it

The transmission issue may be something as simple as the filter o-ring didn't seat properly when it was installed.

Does it die at idle or when letting off of the pedal? Might be a dirty throttlebody causing the blade to stick closed for a minute and kill the engine.

I'd certainly start with checking the transmission fluid level.
Low level causes just the problems your describing.
Especially the stalling issue.

Pelletier,

Has there been any recent trans services done? When was the last plug change?

5.7 V8. I'm not to sure what trouble codes are? and No mods done to the truck.
Usually, letting of the pedal it dies...can I clean that throttlebody myself or take it in?
Checked all the fluids and they are all full and good.
The last time it was checked for the trans was probably when I bought it. 5 months ago and no trans work done on it yet.

Do you have a check engine light on? Will show up on instrument cluster. If so carry it to local auto parts place and have it scanned and codes read out. Write them down. Most places do it for free. Then post up the codes. What's the mileage?

Cleaning a TB is not difficult if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. Remove the hat, disconnect hose and wiring from TB, remove bolts holding it on. Clean thoroughly with non chlorinated brake cleaner. Careful not to get it on any electrical parts.

okay, I can get the codes checked. 185,000kms. Yes, check engine light is on. Ohh that sounds easy enough. I got engine shine cleaner and detailer.

I wouldn't use that to clean your TB. Tech bulletin out about only using non chlorinated brake cleaner

would have said maybe the trans filter but if it hasent been changed you should be good, but I think you are due for a transmission service by now
