not sure what its called. but its used to turn on the stock head unit in the same way it does an aftermarket unit. it goes from the battery, through the fuse block, through the ignition, to the head unit.

again, not sure if its the same on an 06+ truck. but it should be considering they use the same harness for the head unit.

06+ are powered thru the PCM via CANBUS. I think you need a lockpic harness to make it work properly.

I don;t know. Maybe you can look up the harness and see how the wires go. I haven't installed an aftermarket radio in mine, Just upgraded to the 6 disc RAQ unit, so I do not have first hand knowledge of the aftermarket harness.
You might search thru the audio forum to see if there is anything helpful there.

I just ordered a new unit and accessories from crutchfield and the website forced me to buy an $80 integration kit to go with it. When i asked the tech about it, he said i would need that for any aftermarket unit. The kit says its for 04 and 05 Rams so that tells right there that 06 is probably different. Whether or not you need a similar thing for 06 models, i dont know.

This stuff is why i use crutchfield. Costs a couple extra bucks but they make sure you know what you need and how to install it. I have installed many units in my day but this will be my most complex with a harness, integration harness, steering wheel control adapter, and a powered sub. Probably cake to an experienced installer.

cant see why you would ever need an $80 integration, unless its specifically for the steering wheel controls. only thing i needed for my 05 was an $8 harness from walmart.

The steering wheel controls adapter was separate. Turns out i only needed the integration adapter because i am keeping the factory amp and speakers. I just got the stuff today but havent started installing yet. But the integ adapter states that purpose and says it fits 03-08 chrysler products.
