2006 dodge ram 1500 hemi sport 4x4
So, I was leaving to take my son to register for classes next year and my truck won't start. At first it would crank, but not catch. It finally caught-reved way up then died. I tried it again and the same pattern. Now, nothing-no noises at all. Lights work, radio will turn on. A dash light came on-ETC. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Really can't afford a huge repair bill right now. Do have a brother-in-law that can help, but if I can avoid a tow it would be great. Thank you so much in advance for any help at all.

Will it start with a jump? What is the condition of the battery?
