cheapest way to lift a truck?
im thinking of getting a 2.5" leveling keys with maybe a 2" block in the rear just to get the truck up a little. but is there an easier way to do this without spending upwards of 600 bucks?

Theres no cheap and easy way to lift a truck, if you cheap out youll be sorry in the long run when suspension parts wear out/ break. Your cheapest/ safest option is to crank the torsion bars up a bit to level it out then get an alignment.
but thanks i will deffinatly look into that
Crank your torsion bars for a level front end. It will totally change the appearance of the truck. If you still want more, a 3" PA body lift is relatively cheap and you won't have to mess with any other suspension components.
im not sure how i feel about cranking the stock ones up. iv heard bad things involving shocks, joints, bearings and what not. but im lookin for functional lift not just for aesthetics. but im gonna look into rough country. they have some good stuff
If you want functionally then you'd have to go with a full on lift kit with full subframe and everything. But it will be more than twice your budget.

Don't go over 2" with the torsion bar crank and you will be fine. If I'm not mistaken, don't the leveling keys/kits put the same amount of stress on those components as cranking the t-bars (for free) do?
now that i think of the physics behind it. ya your probably right. i mean the aftermarket ones are designed so you can crank them so the new key is in the same position as the old one, but the flat parts to to are slightly different to give it the lift.
so ya your probably right haha
