Default condensation, build up under oil cap and fill tube

I have read an issue with this before. I believe reading that the solution to the condensation slime build up was putting in a slide to block/cover it up. I started seeing this condensation reach my dip stick and some in my oil over time. Here are some pics. I have had the heads replaced about 2 years ago.

You are probably not driving long enough, often enough, to burn off the condensation. I know that's my issue - lots of short trips with occasional long trips. This is normal.

Could drop in some seafoam to help dry it up.

Short trips are usually the cause. The oil doesn't get hot enough to evaporate any moisture in the crankcase. I like to go for a long drive for maybe an hour or so every couple weeks in the winter to keep this from happening since I only live about 4 miles from work. If you start getting it on the dipstick then you may have another issue. Try pressure testing the cooling system to see if it is leaking somewhere like a head or head gasket.

Through all this buildup, I am not losing coolant. That was my concern at first. I consistently keep an eye on the coolant just in case it's a small leak. It does this whether I take short drives or long ones. It usually looks like this at every oil change interval if I don't clean it monthly.

my next weekend project is to take the oil fill tube completely out and clean it throroughly. there seems to be some condensation at the bottom of the fill tube. Just to be safe, I will take it off and clean it. I will also replace the PCV valve and see if that makes a difference. I hadn't had this issue until the beginning of 2012. We had the cylinder heads replaced back in 2008 from overheating. I will pressure test the cooling system to check for leaks. The only possible solution aside from this being "normal" is that there is a small leak in the head gasket, or the heads were not torqued in sequence. But again, I have not been losing coolant (or not that I can tell). We'll see what happens this weekend.

My dad's 4.7 does this from time to time the way you describe.

I found that I can remedy it by cleaning out the fill tube and seafoaming the oil. Then, of course, changing it.

If you need it, change the PCV too, just make sure you get a dealer part. Look at the hose too, make sure it's not busted just for the sake of being in there with it.
