Default Anybody ever remove this bumper?

I've been trying to take a look at whats under this monstrosity of plastic and get an idea of how the bumper would look without the skin on it.

I'm thinking of taking it off and rhino lining the metal bumper.

Anybody ever take this off and see what it looks like? Got pictures of it?

Let me know.

Thanks.

If you crawl up under there and look from the backside, you can see what is metal. Underneath the plastic is basically just a metal frame. If it were me, I would just spray the plastic on the outside. It would look a lot better than exposing the skeleton underneath.

ya rhino lining the metal behind the bumper isnt a good idea, the bones of the bumper are not pretty. if you going to linex anything do up the bumper skin, it comes off super easy, and once linex'd it looks awesome. If you search around thru my posts youll see pictures of what the bumpoer looks like.

Thanks guys. I did alot of looking, it was still kind of hard to see exactly what it would look like without the plastic.

I found the pics with no bumper. Don't want to leave it like that.

I'm no fabricator and don't have the tools but I may try and find some one to bend a some steel for me and somewhat match the the angle under the lights and then bolt that on.

The plastic is cracked and it just bugs me the way it sticks out. I don't know we'll see how it goes.

Why don't you just get a new cover or that one repaired? I don't see the gain in hillbilly-ing out your truck, unless you like the poor white trash look?

just have a shop repair the bumper. Regardless of what any shop tell yous they can fix a bumper even if your missing a chunk of plastic they can fix it. It may become more cost effective to replace vs repair. I would honestly just the trade section or maybe your local craigslist or ebay for the part can get it cheaper than buying at dealer or bodyshop.

If it's only cracked and not missing a piece I would say rhino lining it would cover up the crack pretty well
