A programmer (such as Superchips) would do it. If you have Tow/Haul mode, you can turn it on, and that should also turn off the MDS.

Put 5W-30 in it. BTW, that won't change what the tach does. Engine RPM is not affected by MDS.

Do not do this... this will NOT disable the MDS, this will only damage your engine.

The only ways to turn it off is to drive in tow/haul mode, which will turn off the Over Drive and you will see a major decrease in fuel economy. Or you can purchase a programmer such as the Superchips tuner, then you can turn it off without a problem.

How can 5W-30 hurt the engine? That's what mine uses. And it WILL disable the MDS.

It isn't that helpful for the Ram. That's a big face to push through the air, plus the Ram is pretty heavy. Folks who have done exhaust mods sometimes find the "drone" produced when the engine shuts down the four cylinders to be annoying.

I have it in my 300C and it's pretty effective - at 70 mph, it gets around 22 mpg. Plus, MDS is blamed for global warming, North Korean nukes, food stamps and poverty. Most folks don't really understand how it works, so it gets blamed for many completely unrelated things.

Wow disappointed to hear 300C with MSD doing 22 mpg on hwy I thought it should give around 25-26 mpg for being sedans
