how to disconnect MDS on 08 Ram???
is there any way to disconnect the multi displacement system on my 08 Ram 1500 hemi 2WD without damage??? I hate the way the tach goes up and down going down the highway!!!
A programmer (such as Superchips) would do it. If you have Tow/Haul mode, you can turn it on, and that should also turn off the MDS.

Do not do this... this will NOT disable the MDS, this will only damage your engine.
The only ways to turn it off is to drive in tow/haul mode, which will turn off the Over Drive and you will see a major decrease in fuel economy. Or you can purchase a programmer such as the Superchips tuner, then you can turn it off without a problem.
How can yall guys want to disable MSD? I wish my 2002 dodge ram had MSD cause my truck average 12 mpg city and 14 mpg hwy, with easy throttle, flowmaster 40 dual, Kn filter

It isn't that helpful for the Ram. That's a big face to push through the air, plus the Ram is pretty heavy. Folks who have done exhaust mods sometimes find the "drone" produced when the engine shuts down the four cylinders to be annoying.
I have it in my 300C and it's pretty effective - at 70 mph, it gets around 22 mpg. Plus, MDS is blamed for global warming, North Korean nukes, food stamps and poverty. Most folks don't really understand how it works, so it gets blamed for many completely unrelated things.
