Default Half-shaft bearing surface Ok?

Recently, my RH-front hub bearing failed. My steering knuckle was damaged in the process. In the interest of keeping parts costs down, I want to reuse my half-shaft. The bearing surface is a bit rough. However, I think I can sand this down a bit to make it work.

I'd appreciate some feedback, pro or con, either way.

The bearing does not ride that far back. You can just use some emery cloth to clean that up.
