Can I quit this synthetic MOBIL ONE OIL?
I want to stop using Mobil One after 75,000 miles of using this synthetic and switch to Regular 5w20 extended life oil. All I do is drive the highway each day as a daily driver and I think it's a waste. I change it every 7500 miles and I figure why bother. Also, I swear I have a light hemi tick after all the bragging I did about fixing this. The tick goes away when the oil has about 3,000 miles on it. I thought I read "that nice guy with the shotgun" say that the regular oil and he heard it less, but the synthetic he heard it a bit.
Well, can I just give up on the Mobil One? thank you

What I meant to say
Was, and thank you Dirty Dog for the spot on answer. Would there be any problem incurred by stopping the use of expensive synthetic oils and
using regular Dino oils. Say 5w20 7500 Castrol or Penzoil or Mobil 7500. It seems to me the dealer insisted I use Mobil One synthetic. Why? AND WHY NOT JUST change over AND NOT have any engine problems because I did so.
Yes, I am well aware of the fact that it is my truck.
Yes, I know I can do what I want.
Mixing the oils is cool according to Dirty Dog or just plain stop using the synthetics.
WHY??? Because it cost $110 for an oil change at the Mobil One store. Rather go to Quik Lube
I can change the M One pretty cheaply, but I got 30 quarts of used oil in the garage and I am no where near the Yangzee River.

I think the added safety of synthetics not breaking down at high temps and the detergents in them keeping stuff clean for a more efficient engine, far outweigh the potential savings of going back to dyno oil.
I say potential savings because you won't be saving much if your engine grenades (for whatever reason) due to overheating or sludging up.
Synths give you greater margins for error.
Could possibly save that engine and your wallet???
Just IMHO.

I just spend 40$ on 7 quarts of Havoline full synthetic and a Purolator pure one filter. I literally takes 20 minutes to do it yourself. You don't even have to be good at working on cars to do it yourself. Most of that 20 minutes is spent waiting for all the old oil t drizzle out of the pan. But to answer your question, it will not hurt anything to switch back to regular oil. It's just a myth that you cant. Although, if you were using conventional oil I wouldn't wait 7500 miles to change it. The most I would go is 5,000. In the end, you're probably spending about the same amount of money, but you have a little more added protection with full synthetic. However, it's up to you.
