^^S&B are good filters. Also, Airraid makes a non-oiled filter. It's their Synthamax line.
I have always had dirty oil with K&N which means dirt gets through. Thinking about getting Synthamax to try out.

About this crankcase filter, why are you guys running one? My 2008 doesn't have one. I have an Airraid tube straight to my OEM filter box. The nipple off the elbow to the right side is plugged up. No little filter used here.

Because we don't have the airbox anymore... So that tube has nothing to plug into, hence we need the filter on it so nothing gets in there.

Yea lol. When you do a cone filter you basically rip out that entire section of hose

So, Amazon has a k&n ru 3580 for about 35 bucks and ebay has a K&N RC 1637 for about 47 bucks would either of those be something I might use?

Never seen a full K&N kit for that much or is it just the filter? If just the filter then go for the best price you can find

Yes, you need to filter the air being drawn into the crankcase by the pcv valve. This requires the small filter.
I just run the MIT pipe with a K&N filter and get the same gains as the $300 K&N kit without the overly loud moaning under full throttle. A whopping 8hp that you will never feel.

Hey, before I go shucking out 65 bucks for a K&N cone filter should I be sure it's specific for my truck and engine? or is there a universal filter that will "do"?
