about to install the cai in my 05 ram 1500 hemi. will I need the little cone filter also along with the regular cone filter?

 

Need more info! Are you putting a kit together, did you buy a complete kit ect. We should be able to help you more from there.

 

actually putting together my own like the one ewing 111 on here made. with 3 inch pvc conduit the rubber connector that will connect it to the throttle body, and will probably pick up a Spectre cone filter from one of the auto stores. Yes you need the tiny cone filter for that one piece of hose. I think it's a vacuum line.

 

The little one is the breather filter and yah u need it their like 8 or 9 bucks at autozone

yeah you need it, can't remember the exact name, but its some kind of universal filter (crankcase maybe?) and fits into that hose perfectly. Also, I would consider k&n over spectre, I know hammer did some tests on the spectre filter and is was pretty bad, just letting all kinds of dust through. Something to consider.

 

How much was the K&N?

 

theres a range, but its around 50 bucks. I figured I saved so much building the cai myself that i could spend a bit more on the part that is important anyway.

 

S and b. Is worth checking out...I have two of thier filters on my modified stock air box..

I cut out the top the air box and running a filter of a 2nd gen v10 and a square filter for the hemi. ..
