Default 2007 with unlimited powertrain warranty

So I have a 2wd 1500 with 4.7. At 99k I had a new motor dropped in under warranty due to a clogged radiator. Oddly they didnt catch any radiator problems the summer before when it lost a water pump and a head...

My question at hand though is what can I upgrade without losing my warranty? efan swap? chip? headers & exhaust? cold air intake?

You would have to ask the dealer or have them print out the warranty contract if you don't have it, but I would hazard a guess and say that most anything you would want to do to it might void the warranty.

You can change anything you want. It will only void the warranty on the pieces that you upgrade, unless the mod causes something else to fail. If they can prove that say a tuner caused detonation and grenaded an engine, then you are SOL.

Basic bolt-on stuff is fine, if you go to changing internals such as cams, on the engine or different gears in the rearend, then yes it will unless maybe the dealer installs them.

There are more limitations on the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty than a standard one. I say this because when I had my truck inspected at it's 5yr mark like we must do to keep the warranty intact, the mechanic said that he would have failed me if I had a CAI on it. Since I had the stock air box with a drop in filter I passed. If I were to remove the stock airbox for anything aftermarket I would have failed.
I have Shorty JBA headers, they didn't say anything. Must not have noticed but I would have fought that anyhow since they are 50state legal stamped.

A catback will definately not void anything but if you go changing out your Cat itself, that will be null and void even by Federal law.
I have a Superchips tuner, I reset back to stock when I had it inspected at the 5yr mark or it would have failed me.

Your previous engine overheated because of a clogged radiator, you also had problems with your waterpump. I would say you most definitely will be null and void if you have a similar issue with an e-fan because it's all coolant(overheat) related. They can simply say that there is no spec on the electric fan and that it is not up to Dodge specification to keep engine cooled properly even if it truly does. You have no way of proving otherwise. The ball is in their court on that one.

Failing any one of the warranty requirements will cause you to lose the lifetime warranty all together. They can do this because the powertrain is all linked. So, you gain extra HP on your engine and that puts stress on your trans and rear end..etc which they could very easily say and get away with..not to mention is actually true.

So a lot of limitations. What about tuners? If i reset it before dropping it off can tehy tell? For a 4.7 is any one better than another? I guess that and a cat back will have to do unless I want to switch CAI back and forth...
