Default removing resonators on 06 3.7

ive heard lots of people removing the resonators on their trucks. What do the resonators do? would they be hard to remove but keeping the stock exhaust system? what would it do to the sound of the truck? i have the stock outlet out the side

It just dampens the sounds a little more. I took mine off in the first week I had my truck. It just made the truck sound a little louder. I just used a sawsall. 30 seconds of work for a little more sound.

did you have to weld on the rest of the exhaust pipe after cutting it off?

I only cut off the rear resonator, I didn't touch anything else. and I didn't put the tip back on. It was dumping just behind the rear right rim

well after I removed the res. I ended up with a Flowmaster system, kept stock cats. Id like to do headers, and a new better flowing Y. But I don't wanna dump money into that at the moment. I wanna save up for a total lineX covered truck

Keep in mind most everyone has a V8. The V6 without the resonator won't sound too cool. Maybe even annoying. Especially on the freeway.

Default cats and resonators

Any MPG changes after removing the cats and resonators and are you o2 sensors still hooked in?
