how clear were the instructions that came with the push button? i am also thinking about doing this and was just curious. i think it'd be sweet to have. and then all u had to do was hook the button to power, ground, and wire it to the ignition, right?

This is probably a stupid question, but will the switch work with a regular 1500 w/ the Hemi?

Ok I'm going to ask the question, I realize that you need to hook the wires into the ignition system, but do you need to turn thr key to the power on position or what?? I want to do this to to my Ram 1500.. There is a forum support buisiness that sells them too, there are 3 different colors. Check out the attachments.

Hemi Yellow, the instructions are great. You hook pin number 2 to the yellow wire under the dash that goes to the starter, you hook pin number 1 to the hot wire from the cigaretter lighter, and that's all. it's very easy.

Spin Freak, yes it works fine on ALL vehicles. Art at Hensons' says he gets lots of orders for the thing, people puting them in everything.

DaHipaKea, I considered the aftermarket ones you've linked. SOme are lighted, and I think they would look very nice at night, in the end, I wanted Mopar origonal, but there is clearly no sin in going aftermarket; many light up, and I think those would look cool at night.

There is a seller on Ebay that says you need a relay for the switch to work, they are not correct. Art said that the Ram has a relay built into the starter, none is needed with the button. Good luck all.

And, yes, it is actually a silly mod, you do have to put the key in, and turn it to the "on" position then you push the button to start. BUT it is a sweet mod if you have a loud exhaust, cause you get the "push to rumble" experience.

I put one in my truck and used an electrical washer (from home depot). I had to open the center a bit to get the button to fit. I painted it black and it looks pretty good. Also, when I hooked it up I cut the yellow wire and connected it to the start button. That way I have to use the button to start it. I love taking it into the dealer and watching the guy try to figure out why it won't start when he turns the key.
