Fresh Antifreeze Question
I just had to change my water pump at 81,000 miles. It got to where it was leaving like a sieve and I was putting about a gallon of antifreeze in every 2 months.
I removed the old pump with no problems, bolted on the new one and flushed it out 3 times. The first time was with the Prestone Flush-N-Fill kit. I ran it on the garden hose with petcock open and radiator cap off to get out all the old antifreeze. I then flushed it with the Prestone coolant flush, with the system on water and everything closed, then flushed once more with the Flush-N-Fill to get all that out. New radiator hoses and a new heater hose, now refilled with Mopar antifreeze.
After that long intro, here comes the question. The Mopar antifreeze is reddish, and when I filled the radiator, it was reddish. After running the truck the antifreeze is now orange. Anybody else seen this? Surely it can't be anything left in the system after the flushing. Is this normal?

Shouldn't be yellow at all. When was the last time you flushed yours out? And have you used a tester on it to see if it's 50/50?
Brand new coolant water pump Tstat definately a 50/50 mix and full flush only a few moths ago.
I have seen MOPAR in two colours. The pinkish red and the yellow straw colour.

Oh OK I've never seen the zerex stuff because I don't even know where to get it from. But as long as it is HOAT then it's all good ^_^
It was like $20 for a gallon jub at O'reillys. I know they don't actually have it on the shelf, you have to ask for it.
