Fuel Pump or Starter???
NEW PROBLEM. When I try to crank my truck it turns over and tries to crank but just won't. But if I turn my key to the on position and wait for the 5 beeps then turn it off and try to crank it it works. Go figure I've doing that for the past few weeks. i cleaned the throttle body , but no results. Is it my starter going out or is it just not getting the fuel from the fuel pump.

A fuel pump would have no effect on the engine turning over. If it's spinning freely when you turn the key, but not firing up, it's the fuel pump. If the engine is not spinning freely then you have a starter/battery issue.
Now, you said that you have to basically let the key sit twice before you start it, THAT can be indicative of a fuel pump going south.

If it turns over, it ain't the starter. What you're describing sounds like a fuel pump failure - the fuel rail pressure is not staying up. Try turning the key on and counting to five, then turn to "Start". I suspect it'll fire right up.
hey Mike that worked for a little while but now it just coughs like its sick and cranks whenever its ready. Stubborn lil mule. How hard is it to drop the tank and change that fuel pump? Its no point in putting my CAI on if it wont crank when needed
