Well, that would start the warm-up at a higher temp, but I suspect it wouldn't be enough. Besides, he probably already has one. It must get down to -50 there quite a bit.

Stumbled over this in a pdf-file. It's shows all the standard features for the ´04 Ram:


It says that the block heater is standard, but it doesn't show on my build sheet I got from Chrysler. Does anybody know if the block heater actually was standard equipment?

Erm, you're confused. The STANDARD features are the itemized list at the very top of the very 1st page. All the options are after that.

Not standard - most of us don't need it. If you don't have something to connect to an electrical outlet, you don't have one. It would make sense to be standard equipment, considering your location.

"Engine Block Heater" is directly under "All Dodge Ram models include:" Gotta be a regional thing. Certainly not "standard" in units sold in the south, for instance.

The block heater will have a plug that looks like a household device.
