How to make my 4.7 faster
#24
the dinosaur is cool lol
but I'll tell you what I'll bet my little 4.7 would dust 95% of the hemi's out there... she mean I've had so many hemi ask me what I did to make mine so fast then look strange when I say its a 4.7..
I thought about getting a new truck and went and test drove the new hemi the sells man ask me what I thought when I got back I just tossed him the keys and said unimpressed and left with my old truck.
ive been in to my motor and have done just bout every bolt on I can tell you what the strengths and the weakness of the motor are I have always hated the just buy a hemi guys!
I get it your talking about going all out and looking to 1/4 mile race all the time but then again if that is what your looking for I say buy a car. these are heavy trucks but you can get a lot out of the little motor. now with that said there is a big difference between the auto and manual in the 4.7 which is the reason I bought my truck over the hemi. The hemi was still a new motor when I bought mine and it didn't come with a 5-speed so I got the 4.7 now the hemi is a good motor is it worth buying a new truck for most the time it isn't unless your planning on making a straight strip truck.

I'm with you on the 4.7 being able to hold it's own. My dad owns an 02 Quad Cab with a 4.7 and it goes pretty well. My friend owns an 02 single cab and that truck goes like stink.
So if you've got a single cab short bed (aka Ram shorty) and you mod it a bit, it could probably take on most Hemis on the street.

Possibly, until you run into a single cab short bed (aka HEMI Ram shorty modded like mine, and then you're gonna be in trouble

I'll just take my 98, run up your bumper from the start, and spin ya. lmao
