I have a 2003 ram 5.7 hemi with 43,000 klms Would synthetic oil be a good choice this early in the motors life? Can the dealer be trusted with the quality of their oil and tranny fluids?

Start UM early.... I started my strat at 3500 miles. just make sure you use the proper weight oil. dodge had a problem with the mds syystem on the hemi thats why they went to a 5w20 oil. If your worried bout your dealer doing tranny and oil, I would bring your own oil and make sure the tranny any shop uses is the proper fluid if its an auto make sure they use atf+4. For oil i would suggest mobil1 and a quality filter.

I, personally, would not go wih a Fram oil filter. My mom got her oil changed with a shop that used a Fram oil filter and it ended up being defective and leaking oil all over the place. This was after the shop initially FORGOT to add oil back to the car..... what can you expect from a Wal-Mart auto shop.

yah i would deffinitly start using Mobil 1, i started using mine at 3000 miles and never looked back. as far as tranny fluid, just make sure they use atf+4. and i've always been trustful of the mopar filters and also WIX filters, but your choice. hope some of this helps ya in your choices.

I just had an oil change at 50,000klms which involved an engine flush brfore adding the new oil. Do I have to flush the engine again before switching to mobil 1 synthetic oil from the regular oil? I only put 2000 klms since the engine flush and oil change.

No. The idea of the oil flush is to dissolve and dilute the sludge that was built up. Using quality dino and frequent changes should not yield much if any sludge build-up.

no I wouldn't bother with a flush again. A flush isn't really required but with the miles and running dino oil for so long it was just in order to help remove some of the crud and give the synth less to clean.
