Yeah I'm really not looking for any sarcasm. I just want some insight on how other people have their fan running and if that the best setting would be for it to kick on at.

Starting to sound like the controller is bad. Can you turn it off at all with the controller?

No I don't think the controller is bad because I can the fan off if i adjust it all the way up. I guess I am just not getting it to the right setting :/. Do you guys know what the "idle" temp. is when running a 180 thermostat?

There is no "idle temp". If the coolant exceeds 180 degrees (and it most likely will), the 'stat will open. If you have to turn the control "all the way up", I'd say it's bad, or you have a circulation problem in the cooling system.
