I have a few questions because I installed my fan a few weeks ago and something just doesn't seem right. Where did you install the temp. probe in the radiator? Do you have a mechanical water gauge installed? If so what does your truck normally idle at before the fan kicks on? Or better yet what is the normal operating temp when running a 180 tstat?

Top driver's side of the radiator for probe position. You want it near the input of the radiator. My fan is set to come on at about 210 with my 203 'stat. If you have a 180 'stat, the "normal" temp will be a bit over 1/4 on the gauge. When I had the 180, I still had the fan set to come on at ~1/2.

Well I have the probe near the upper radiator hose like the instructions said but sometimes my fan will kick on before it even starts getting warm. I installed a mechanical water temp gauge and my truck is constantly reading around 185 degrees and when I really get on it the temp will go up to about 190-200 range. Ever since I installed my cam I've been having problems with my motor running a little hot. Before I put the 180 tstat in it would stay just below the half mark but would climb just a hair above it when I would get on the pedal.

If your fan is kicking on before the motor gets warm then you have the controller set wrong. Turn the controller completely off and warm the truck up to where you want the fan to kick on. When it reaches that temperature, turn the controller slowly til it kicks on the fan, and you're set

Yeah I tried doing that but then it seemed like my fan was constantly on. Even cruising on the highway it would kick on.

Did you tie the fan controller to the A/C compressor?

No I was originally going to but I had read somewhere that it was only necessary for trucks that didn't have a dedicated condenser fan.

My fan comes on and stays on as long as the gauge is below half
