There are filters in the tank and more accurately, in the pump. Dont over complicate it.

I understand but when I had to clean out my fuel rail and it looked like tobacco snuff stuck in it I think it needs something more.

With all the stuff they are putting in the fuels, you have to do PM more often. Try this now that its clean once a month run a can of seafoam through it. You can also pick up some startron (walmart has it). It kills the ethonol in the fuel.

^^^ exactly, it's the quality of the fuel that's being used and as said, maintenance not performed

I got the truck used at 65k on it got 74 now. I did run sea foam and stp through it. I think that's what broke all that gunk loose. But I still don't understand how there's a filter in the tank. Is it one of the plastic screen lookin thing that caught nothing. And honestly changing a $20 in line filter is cheaper than buying new injectors at $50 each. Had to get 2 they was complete clogged.

I've got 16 injectors sitting here. No need to buy new. If you had problems between 65k-75k you were definitely getting or using poor fuel.

Look in my signature and go to my gallery and find the fuel pump folder. In there, there are pics showing the filter. All newer style rides have filters in the tank now.

Poor fuel for sure, I've change service stations. The filter is what everyone calls a sock filter around here. I cleaned 6 of the 8 injectors 2 there was no hope for. Even used a sewing needle to try to get the stuff out but it had the injector needle jammed in the open position. Hence p0202 code. Even tried the battery trick.

Probably not going to want to put some cheapo inline filter in a high pressure fuel line...I wouldn't...

No that's why I asked here if anyone has done it before and had success with it. I've searched around a bit and I'm not the only one asking how to do this. Does anyone know the psi in the fuel line?
