Default 2005 Ram 1500 Making Noises when I Turn?

I could use some advice. My truck is making noises off and on when I make turns and the noise lasts a very short distance after the turn. There aren't any problems when I brake or accelerate. It's kind of a pinging sound like something caught in a spoke and there is a bit of a grinding feel through the pedals. Only occurs immediately after a full left or right turn. Seems to have to warm up first to start occurring.

I took it to Meineke and they said there isn't anything wrong with the front end. They also said a boot was out of place and there was a little give on the wheel bearings but not enough to be worth replacing. Is this a transmission issue? I have a bit over 100000 miles on it now.

When should I worry about the noise?

Sounds like you may have a wheel bearing going bad

I second the wheel bearing idea.

Does it make noise when you turn a certain direction? Or just left or right?

Just makes noises when I turn left or right after it has been driven a mile or so. Though I think I heard the noise start up and then stop when I was driving straight.

Yep definitely sounds like a wheel bearing.

Wheel bearing noise is usually heard at all times and gets louder as speed increases. If its a 4wd truck it could be the cv shafts, or a combination of those and the intermediate shafts.

Took it to Midas and they verified that the wheel bearing is going out. Noise is also occuring more often. I know what I'm doing this weekend.
