Default Shift Solenoid A error code...

First I wanna say I searched through the forum to see if I could find my answers BEFORE I posted this. I didn't see my questions or the answers I need.

I was driving down the interstate at about 80. Truck kinda jerked alittle and the RPMs went to like 33K.
The check engine light came on.
I took it to Advanced, they checked the code, with their magic box, and it said "Shift Solenoid A"

My questions are:
Where can I get a picture showing EXACTLY where the solenoid is? I have found pictures of the solenoids, but non that said "This is the shift solenoid A"

Is this a job I should be able to do? If so... Where can I order the solenoid from? Any help would be awesome!!

Thanks Bill

Assuming your truck is an 06, with a 545rfe as your name suggests...

I've only helped my brother change one in a customers truck, so I'm not positive on this: I'm pretty sure its an all or nothing kinda thing, its a solenoid pack, containing A,B,C...etc. Its in the transmission on the other side of the pan, and I'm pretty sure it may be a dealer only piece. It also required programming, that our scan tool was able to do, don't need the dealers.

I changed mine recently in my 04 Ram. Dropped the pan. Then 6 bolts to remove the valve body. Then about 13 torx screws to remove the assembly.
If your truck is like mine you might want to remove the front driveshaft in order to remove with that connector. It's a PITA trying to get hands in there otherwise.
Solenoid pack not cheap, about 340 at my dealer.

If you want it I can ship it. My shop deals with all automatic transmission to wholesale only but I can ship it to you. Find out what you exactly need. The 545rfe solenoid from us will run you $250 + shipping and it is oem mopar part. Let me know just trying to help.

No problem. 250 bucks plus shipping sounds like a good deal if you not in a rush to get it done. These diagrams show the bolts you need to remove.

Talked to the guys at the shop today and they say you don't have to bring it to dealer to have it programmed.
