Stuck in 4wd

Default Stuck in 4wd

i have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 and it doesn't come out of 4wd , on the dash it shows 4wd but when I move the switch to 2wd it blick in 4wd but doesn't switch for nothing , Ive tired moving in reverse but nothing it just says on the dash 4wd drive even though the switch is on 2wd what do I do ? please help

You could have a bad Transfer case control module (TCCM) or transfer case motor. I would have the TCCM scan for codes and start from there. There was a problem a few years ago that the wire harness going to the TCCM, goes thru the bulkhead/firewall on the driver side and near the park brake ratchet and shorting out the wires. I would still have vehicle check for codes.

Most important thing to do is take it to a electrical mechanic and get it checked and the transfer case it has we put it on about 2 days ago but it was used , but when u move the switch to 2wd you can hear the motor moving in the transfer case but sounds like it is stuck ? Is there any other way to probably get it out of 2wd

where would I go to check the TCCM at , I really don't now everything of mechanic but know a bit tho. whats the best thing

The TCCM is located on the left side under the dash. But you need to have the codes to start with, This way we can guide you thru your problem.
