This might be a long shot but there was a recall on the wiper motors, depending on the VIN for that year.
Recall J-11
There were even some that had an extended factory warranty on the Multifunction switch.
If you PM me the last 8 of your VIN I can tell you, or you can call the dealer.

Your MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH is covered for 120 Months or 150,000, according to this VIN
J-11 did not apply to yours
H46 and L16 recalls have been done, but it doesn't mean they won't need to be done again....
