Default Dodge Keyless Entry Remotes and Programming Instructions

What does your local dealer charge for Dodge keyless entry remotes?

My Dodge dealer wants $119 a piece plus $35 for programming for each of my cars (02 Ram pickup, 96 Intrepid)

I'm curious to see what other dealerships are charging for new remotes and programming.

I'm done with ebay because the listings show new remotes, and 3 out of 3 times I've won - I end up with junk that doesn't work and won't program. First one was superglued together and cracked. Can't check the battery if you can't even open it. Second one was completely corroded inside from water and didn't work. The 3rd one only 1 button worked and it looked like someone tried to superglue the circuit board pieces back together. Each one was advertised as new, or like new and they obviously weren't anywhere close to that. The Keyles Ride site is run by one of those same lying ebay sellers, so thats off the list too.

What does your local dealership charge? I bet there's some that want even more than what mine is charging.

I'd be interested to know as well. I got a Mopar Sentry key and alarm system that I'm installing myself, but the computer needs re-programmed to acknowledge the Sentry key. Shouldn't be much--all they have to do is plug the DRBIII into the computer and re-flash it. Check out the TSB's on yours---if there's anything going on with your vehicle requiring the computer to be re-flashed under a TSB, they may do it NC if you have a good shop that you work with.

I've had pretty good luck with factory Mopar stuff. In most cases such as what I just got, the stuff just plugs in to existing harnesses--no fuss, no muss. There are a variety of web sites selling it. One I use most is Discountmopar.com. They usually have good prices, but it also doesn't hurt to check the dealer. As with alot of stuff on the web, once you pay freight you may not save much.

Yeah, ain't Ebay just great!

However, I suspect you will find the best prices from dealers who sell on-line (e.g. moparpartscenter.com). Can you not program them yourself, as with other manufacturer's? Sorry, I've no Mopar keyless entry vehicles at the moment.

Best of luck.

I found another site online that I'm willing to give a shot - www.ThePartsYouNeed.com

The other KR site I mentioned before wants about $35 a piece with shipping for the 02 Ram remote.

They're about 1/2 that price on ThePartsYouNeed site with the instructions included. I ordered 1 this morning.

https://www.thepartsyouneed.com/disp...productId=1166

I'll keep you guys posted. If it works good, I'm going to order one for my 96 Intrepid as well.

I got my remote from ThePartsYouNeed.com in the mail today. 4 days isn't bad especially when one was a Sunday.

Programming was easy, took about 10 seconds. I can't believe a dealership would charge 1/2 hour of labor for a 10 second job. Thats a good way to lose customers.

Anyhow, the remote works great and when I went to put in an order for remote for the Intrepid I noticed I got free shipping, so I bought a 2nd remote for the Intrepid so I a pair for the each. FINALLY I will have remotes that work and that I can use.

ThePartsYouNeed.com rocks!

We sell the one for the Ram for about $40....The one for the Intrepid is about $107. We program them for about $35-$40.

Picked up the Ram remote for $24.99 - https://www.thepartsyouneed.com/disp...productId=1166

The Intrepid remotes for $24.99 as well - https://www.thepartsyouneed.com/disp...productId=1196

Programming was free with the remotes.

I have a remote that needs programmed.
I was wanting to know if you could share the programming instructions so I don't have to go to the dealership and get ripped off.
