Default Where are the Relay's?

Hey all,

I have a 2007 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. I have been having some intermittent issues with my wiper blades. From time to time they will cease to work and after checking the connections at the motor and the switch in the steering column, there is nothing to suggest what the problem is.

However, upon doing some searching on the internet, an answer came up suggesting that the relays for the switch and wiper motor should be replaced as this could be a problem with it. However, there are no relays in the PDC where the fuses are at.

Anyone have an idea where I might find the relays for this?

Again, there are no relays in the fuse box...only fuses.

Thanks,

Doug

Okay. So if the they are not with the fuses inside, could they be underneath?

You should start by downloading a copy of the Service Manual from the links below in my signature

This could be the multi-function switch. There is a extended warranty on those. I think 10 years or 150k miles. Check with a dealer. There are no relays, you have TIPM. I would check with a dealer on diagnoses. If you don't know what TIPM is, do a search. You will find PLENTY!!!!! Are you having any issues with your turn signals? Like, when you put your left on does the right side blink? That would be a big indicator of the Multi Switch being bad. It could also be the wiper motor itself.

Thanks for the info. My truck maybe past the warranty as it has 191,000 Km's, but is only 6 years old too. I will check on that part.
As for the signals...no issues at all man, none at all. They work just fine.

Lately, being that I live in Northern Alberta, temperatures can be cold, which is when I noticed that they didn't work. But lately, we've been having warmer than normal temps and they have been working fine.
I did recheck everything, electrical connections and so on, nothing to show where the problem lies. I will have to wait and see when they don't work again and check it out from there.

It could have been the temps. If they work fine now that rules out the TIPM. Could be in the motor itself, there are some contacts in there that have been known to cause trouble.

I would lean toward the motor. There are some write ups on this site about that issue, and how to fix it. You would have to do a search. If you have a warm place to work on it and the time, you might be able to take the motor apart and fix the contacts. If not, it's not difficult to replace the motor entirely. Let us know what happens.
