Default Amp gauge issues

I'm hoping someone can help. Iv got a 08 ram lone star 4.7 v8. My blower resistor went out and that's when this guage issue began. Since then I have replaced the resistor, and the repair shop has replaced the battery, alternator, and the serp. Belt. My problem is still after all that when I'm at a stop and my heat is on or headlamps my gauge will fluncuate from a little above half way down to about 13 Amps then when I accelerate or place in park the gauge will go back to above half way. The repair shop said this was ok and it's probably because the batery is overcharged due to new bat and alt. I'm still unsure of that considering iv never had this problem before the resistor issue.

Also I want to add that a couple days ago when I had all this replaced the repair shop tested everything and said it was ok. I'm just wondering because I don't think this is normal. Since the resistor went out 3 weeks ago I'm on my 2nd battery. The shop told me that running the blower on high with a bad resistor probably ruined my batery and alternator. Idk what's going on. Maybe I'm focusing on it too much now but I just don't remember my gauge fluncuating in idle so much before.

I also tested the gauges by hitting the odometer **** and turning the ignition to on position and all the lights and gauges calibrated fine. If I turn my ignition to the on position without cranking my amp gauge shows about 13 amps I'm very frustrated and hoping someone can give me some insight if this is normal or what's going on.

The gauge is displaying volts, not amps. "13" is about right for a 12VDC system. The gauge will vary depending on load. The voltage will go up as the electrical system demands more current. Minimal load and freshly charged battery will cause the gauge to read lower than a slightly discharged battery with lights, wiper and A/C on.

Time to find another shop. The battery and alternator are easily capable of running the blower motor at full speed. Think about it - folks who live in the desert southwest run their A/C on wide open all the time (I imagine).

Ok thanks for the info. I was told by the dealership serv dept. before I replaced everything that running it on high with a shorted out resistor will fry my batery, alternator and possibly my powertrain module. So I was worried I guess that after everything's been replaced and the guage still doing that, that I messed up my powertrain module.

When the resistor shorted out I was on a 1,800 mile round trip and I drove it with the blower on high and with a bad resistor that's when all this began.

Probably caused the "global warming" too.

just to point something out..

the blower on HIGH draws about 30 amp max.. your alternator can produce over 100 amps... so blower will not do that...

a new shop is needed.. NO JOKE.

Ok well iv taken it to 3 different places one being the dodge dealership and no one can figure it out. All I know is I wasn't having any problems with the guage or anything electrical until this motor resistor shorted out.
