Default Replace Airfilter for second Battery

Hi together and a happy new year!

I want to install a second battery in my '04-Hemi. The battery tray from a SRT I already have. Now I need an alternative to the air filter. But I would not install a sport air filter like k&n.

Do I have alternatives?

Can you give me tips?

thanks a lot!

greetings,
Rik

What is it that you dont like about the Sport style? The open filter design?
Do you offroad and use your truck? Most of those open filter designs are at or above the headlights so even large puddle shouldn't effect you. You can get a filter sock for extra protection as well.

You could go with the VaraRam intake. That's a nice set-up. I know the 2009+ are able to use an old air filter style at the top but not suere if they make that style for 03-08's?
Check their website.

many years ago my dad found a over size batt that was a group 31, it was diesel truck batt. with two threaded studs for hook up. same dims but was 1.5 in taller. with a few mods we used them in our chrysler new yorkers and ram twks. BUT they was NOT maintenance free we had to keep a check the water all the time. the guy that showed them to my dad said he ran a big maint truck dept. and had fewer troubles in the cold. and a lot less cost on batt term work. he said bat term maint was his bigest cost before.

Thanks for your answers!

i do not trust the sport air filter such as K & N. What if I forget to oil them? or is this not necessary?
I do not need more power, I need just a different air supply so that i can put a second battery in my ram

what experience do you have with which air filters?

Not all filters have to be oiled.

I must be missing something.

you can do the work to install 2 batteries. but cant/wont oil a air filter once a year.?

Sorry if I misunderstand..

I have used K&N air filters in my cars, trucks, motorcycles over 30 years.
