Question Security light problem.

My 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 security light is flashing. It is a constant flashing, but I don't have a security system.

Are you able to start the truck? How is the battery?

Might be something with your Sentry Immobilizer. Either the reader or your key.
Have you tried another key? Do you have more than one key?

I dont know if there's Valet mode for these trucks?? That would illuminate the light. Maybe check the owners manual.

I thought I could pull a fuse or something, vehicle is still under warranty until 2016. Might just sell this damn thing. Wish this state had a Lemon Law.

Keys can lose programming, which would be a reason it might flash like that... but only the dealer's starscan tool can tell you what's going on.

Problem is I don't have a programable key and no security system.

It's not the keys that lose the programming. They either work or don't. If they dont work, then they need to be replaced.
However; the Sentry(SKIM)module within the truck can lose the programming of the keys or is not able to correctly identify the RFID chisp. But this would be odd because you think the truck would shut off within 10sec or whatever the time out is?

Your key is a programmed Sentry II key. The chip is inside the fob. And your Sentry II system is the factory installed Passive anit-theft which all Chrysler vehicles came with.

I would have your battery tested. Your Under hood battery that is. Maybe it's just weak and is causing memory problms with the SKIM module.

My (under hood) battery as you call it is 2 weeks old. It was replaced by the dealer.

I should have asked. Does it flash when running or only when off?
