Default Negative battery clamp removal

So, I'm pulling my fuse box out, and I want to also pull the battery out of my truck.. It's an 04 1500. I can get the Positive clamp off the post, but the negative appears to be locked on the post. The post appears to have 2 different diameters on it. IS it okay to pry it open with a flat screwdriver? Or is there somethign special that needs to be done? I feel foolish asking this, but this double diameter post has caught me off guard. I can post a photo in a few hours if needed..

if it's like mine. the battery cable clamp, the negative one. tighten down to much. ..

and reduced the post just a small amount..

remove the nut and bolt completely .. and gently pry the clamp wider at where the nut and bolt was at. it should slip right off.. no Force is needed.

Well, After reading some of the last few posts, I determined that the clamp was just overtightened. I got it off with a little patience! Thanks for the help!
