Default Exhaust and o2 problems

hi my name is john im new here kinda new to forum seen also, well not new just no expert. i am new to dodge but not with cars. i had a few accidents that made it a lot more harder to deal with bigger machines like cars and definitely trucks so for the past few years ive been building bikes. i was looking for a work truck and something to carry my bike cause with my 6' bed i couldn't close gate with any kind of lumber and when i carried the bike i had to have it positioned corner to corner. was looking for an 8' 4 banger really but i came across this dodge at a sweet price , well not sweet at first but the truck had a few probs so i new i could get for a sweet price. its a 2002 dodge 1500 4.7 manual trans. all manual i should say lol. bald tires leaking oil and power steering fluid, check engine light bed in pretty ruff shape. exhaust you can hear flapping like it need manifold and donut gaskets. that leads me here

check engine came up on computer as o2 sensor something low voltage forgot witch bank.

just remembered I took a shot of it im sure theres another code ill hook it up again tomorrw
makes perfect sense cause i know the exhaust is leaking. bought an entire new performance exhaust. has 1 o2 before the cat and 1 after the cat exactly like the current cat on my truck. now im at the local parts store to pick up the o2's. he tells me that i need 4 o2's and turns into argument cause my truck only has 2 o2's and the new exhaust only has 2 o2's. i have him call dodge give them my vin.

Dodge now tells me it has 3 i high lighted red cause now we are all confused we had dodge fax it to us. now i end up under my truck digging to find this missing o2. im trying to find a wire at least that goes to this missing o2. i have 1 before and after the cat. is there 1 in manifold? we couldn't figure the correct position based on the photo they faxed but 12 looks like its in the manifold.

upon my digging i found a ball of tape @@ i hate HATE cut wires. could this go to my missing o2? if not does someone know what they do go to?

lol that's what dodge sent me or you talking about the wires I took photo of? I got the truck from a used dealer and he had the wires that were cut hidden in the wiring harness, I noticed a nice bubble in the harness that was wrapped in electrical tape. any1 have any ideas?

I noticed that also and if it is that would mean they are in the manifold but why would I have none in my manifolds? dodge will hear it come Monday. there is no wires to plug in these manifolds. I was thinking someone did motor swap and left the existing manifolds in and motor was to a different model? could they have changed the wiring harness as well?

There isn't a sensor in the manifold because this isn't a Honda...

You should have an O2 Sensor 6"-18" BEFORE the Catalytic Converter, and another one 6"-24" After it.

If you have a California emissions there will be two cats and thus four oxygen sensors...

Look at the Cat and follow it up towards the manifold and then back down towards the exhaust exit.

A lot of people will cap them and/or put a bypass in place (or Fouler Plug, etc.) so the CEL goes away. So just look for them first.

If you can't find at least TWO Oxygen Sensors then you've got a problem.

I can't see all of your pictures at work so I'll look again when I get a chance at home.

im going by the photo dodge sent me. if you follow the line of sensor 12 it looks like it travels to the manifold, 15 in the photo dodge sent also looks like an o2 sensor when they said I only had 3 all on pas side. so if I had 3 all on pas side 1 would have to be in manifold and far as two cats I do not see in the photo they sent. if it had 2 cats there would be 2 on driver and 2 on pas side correct? why would this dodge licensed mechanic tell me I had 3 all on pass side? my truck has 1 cat on pas side with a sensor before and after currently. the exhaust I just got is like the current exhaust. if original exhaust had 2 cats, where would the connects be located on wire harness? if I could find these wires it would solve all my problems. code I get is bank 1 sensor 2, I know bank 1 is cylinder 1 and upon my research that would be driver side on dodge or at least this dodge, I have nothing on driver side?
