Default OK ... Forgive the dumb question ...

I used to drive an F150 ... my key was coded ... couldn't get one made just anywhere ...

Drove that F150 223,774 miles, and just traded it in on a 2004 1500 ... is my Ram key coded as well? I COULD call the dealership or go try and have one made ... but this is more fun.

LOL

Is the key black or gray? Black keys are not chipped, gray ones are (assuming you're looking at a factory key). The Laramie package probably had a chipped key. Some locksmiths can do these.

Its grey ... and assuming by the Ram etched into the key - it's factory.

Sweet! Thanks for the info! Truly appreciate it!

Probably a security key. When I bought my C, I got an extra key for $132. The spare for my Mazda was $140. If you have a savvy locksmith, you may be able to get a spare key.
