Default Different tire sizes on same axle

I recently acquired a 2003 Ram 1500 4.7 V8 quad cab 4x4 with 225k miles. I noticed that the truck has 305/50r20 Toyo Open Country A/T's on the driver's side and 285/55r20 Nitto Terra Grappler's on the passenger side all with varying degrees of wear. My first thought is that being the new owner of a 287, that the tire issue isn't my biggest problem, although running it in anything other than 2H would be a bad idea. Thoughts?

Not a big difference in size. The 305 are alittle wider, and shorter. I would move the 305's to the back. Would not use 4wd until they all match.

Hey, the 4.7 gets ragged on but it's a solid engine. Just keep up on the oil changes and don't let it overheat.

It's solid, but it's a pig.

I agree with P38251 get the tires of the same size on the respective axels. Then get the tires the the manufacturer specifies when it's time for new tires.

Two different tires on one axle in the back is not good. Put the same size on the rear & do not use the 4 wheel drive until you have all 4 the same size. Bad for the trans. axle. Good luck.
