Default Clutch fan issues

OK I have a 2007 dodge diesel mega cab 4x4 5.9. I just replaced the AC compressor and the dryer and lines. I had it recharged and vacuumed to make sure it was clean and ready to go. Well they told me that I had a weak Clutch on my fan. So I just got done replacing it and when I was done it turned on full blast for about 3 minutes. After that it just barely spins at all. you can easily stop the blades of the fan with a rubber radiator hose. When I took it to the shop to check the pressures in the AC my low side was fine and the high side went straight up to 400PSI in less than a few seconds and the fan was barely spinning again. Now i've ready that in some other forums that you can ground out the number 1 connection on the plug. Has anyone done this or does anyone know what I can to get this fixed?

sounds like the clutch fan is BAD. and its a good idea to NOT let the clutch fan lay flat.... always UP like it would in the truck.

Then there is no clutch, just an electric motor.

Does the truck have a separate condenser fan like the gasser's? If so, the cooling fan has nothing to do with the A/C.

Don't know who or what "overt Jays" is, but your new fan is bad. You may be able to just replace just the faulty part (controller or motor most likely). The controller may be part of the PCM since it's a factory electric fan.
