2001 RAM 2500 4X4 Front Axle ID

I was reviewing the ball joint repair procedures for the 2001 RAM 2500 4X4 and bot the service info and the parts place show procedures/parts for the 216 FBI and 248 FBI/Dana 44/Dana60 axle.

How does one identify the two axles? Which FBI version goes with which Dana axle?
