Sorry.

If you have a CEL (Check Engine Light) on the you have stored DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) stored which will tell you faults the PCM (Power Control Module AKA computer) has found

That is letting you know that there is something wrong with your charging system, either battery or alternator. When you pressed on the gas your rpm rose which spun the pulley on your alternator causing it to produce a higher voltage, thus turning your dash light off.

On another thought, if there is something wrong with your charging system, then maybe when you slow down the fuel pump is not getting the voltage it needs and is causing your truck to idle way down. Check your alternator and your battery and I bet that fixes all your problems.

My question is..If you had a cel on and the lightning bolt on, Why did this guy change the crank and cam sensor ? sounds to me like he was just guessing and throwing parts at it to charge you for something. A real mechanic would've scanned the codes and fixed what was really wrong

I also have an 04 1500... I had a similar problem over the winter. I ended up cleaning the idle air control valve and the problem cleared right up. It's right under the throttle position sensor (on the 4.7L). Here is the link to my post: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...when-cold.html

Also, for your Check engine light, save yourself a trip and to the on-off-on-off-on procedure (without actually cranking the vehicle) and get the codes yourself.

Lighting bolt is electronic throttle issue. Nothing to do with charging system. You need to do the key trick. Or go to AutoZone, and have them pull the codes. Then we can help you better.
