Well crap didn't know about the fuel injectors. any way to tell which valve they go in if they were taken out and set aside without marking them?

also I've been looking for a write up on the install since it's been a few years since I put one in. I want something to fall back on in case I have questions

Nope not without flowtesting them... if you have a good amount of time just send them for ultrasonic cleaning and flowtesting... there are a bunch of reputable companies online....

Then you just put the highest flowing injectors at the END of each fuel rail and progressively decrease to the lowest.

I didn't remove the injectors off of the fuel rail. so those are still in the order they are supposed to be. I'm just trying to determine if I want to send them off to be cleaned, buy new ones, or just keep the old ones and reinstall

Well Engine is in and bolted up. Freaking crankcase fittings on the heads had me scratching my head for a good hour tryin to figur out what the holes on each head were for. as it sits today all that's left is the upper engine ( intake manifold plenum, fuel rail, spark plugs, air intake, and pumps and pulleys). Then I'll be putting in the new mishimoto performance radiator. hopefully i'll have it ready to turn over by thursday.

My question about one thing though is should i spray a little oil in each valve prior to turning it over? I poured a little in the heads, but my fear is that due to the oil pump already being installed prior to delivery I wasn't able to prime it. I'm hoping that it will be fine but still it's my biggest worry at the moment.

Well it will run dry for a split second, I'm not 100% sure if you need to prime the oil pump on these engines...

I'd suggest that you download the service manual from the links in the signature on Weedahoe's profile on here. Just search for his username.

That should give you much better information.

Also there is a specific order in which you need to tighten and torque the head bolts and valve cover bolts so make sure you follow(ed) that procedure to the letter.

I have a Haynes manual. It says to prime it prior to install. My engine came with it already installed. It did have lubricant grease/oil in it that they put in there. HEads were already on and torqued to spec. checked that prior to putting on the valve covers. I am hearing a slight knock when i turn it over by hand though. I cant figure out if its coming from the oil pan plate or the flex plate by the tranny
