The vin decoder says I have a 4.7L SOHC. This engine does Not appear to be an OHC. And had to get a diff oil filter than what the parts store gave me for it. Threads were too small on the first one. Any info greatly appreciated!

 

The 08 4.7 is different than the preceding years. Post a picture of your engine (helps alot).

 

Yep '08 marked significant upgrades to the 4.7, requires different filter from previous models. Changes included two plugs per cylinder and compression increased to 9.8:1 making over 300 HP compared to the 235 HP when the engine was introduced in 1999. But don't think for a minute that it's not an OHC...
