Default Limp mode troubles

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7.

A few months ago it went into limp mode as I was driving to work. The engine went to idle. The engine would not respond to pressing the gas peddle. It did give the red lightening bolt. It did, however, return to normal after I shut the engine off, put it in neutral and restart it.

This happened about three times. I ended up replacing the oil psi sensor and it ran fine for a couple of months. Although it did have a slight flutter during acceleration but not too bad.

Two days ago it did it again. This time it would not restart from neutral. I can turn the key and hold it for about 15 seconds and it will eventually start but only in limp mode with the red lightening bolt.

After having it towed home I toggled the key off and on to get the trouble codes. They are as follows:

P0335--------I replaced the crank shaft sensor
P0642
P2122
P0522--------previously replaced oil psi sensor

I can't afford to put it in the shop without taking out a new loan and from what I have read these problems have taken multiple trips to the shop before the issue was resolved. I just can't afford that.

I cant get a scanner to help at this time.

I know this isn't much information but it's all I am able to get at this time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Christ.

Lighting bolt is throttle issue. Has the throttle body been cleaned. Cleaning may just be a bandaid. It may need replaced. That's where I would start. Tune up would not hurt, if it's been awhile.

I'll give it a shot. What concerns me though is the p0642 code which I believe is the sensor low voltage code. Would the throttle body cause this?

from what I have read that voltage comes from the ECM. I don't have a lot of knowledge on this, hope some that has will jump in.

Okay. Cleaned the throttle body. Afterwards the engine idle surged pretty badly in park or neutral. It's okay in other gears. When I shift between park, drive and reverse the truck jerks pretty badly now. Still in limp mode though.

It does have more power now. Enough so that I can "limp" it to the shop and have a diagnosis done.

What's with the truck jerking like that when shifting between drive and reverse?

I am sorry your vehicle issue is still not resolved. The P2122 is for the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 1 Circuit Low. Possible causes are listed per service manual:
(F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
(F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(K23) APP SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
(K23) APP SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(K23) APP SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE
(K167) APP SENSOR NO.1 RETURN CIRCUIT
(K23) APP SENSOR NO.1 SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE
(K400) APP SENSOR NO.2 RETURN CIRCUIT
APP SENSOR
PCM

The dealer would have the diagnostic tools to further troubleshoot and reference wiring diagrams related to these codes.

Put it in the shop to have some diagnostics done. Picked it up today. He said he unplugged the oil psi sensor and it cranked right up. Plugged in it will not run. I replaced this a few weeks ago so perhaps it is a faulty sensor or something I did wrong.

Going to replace it again tomorrow and see what happens.
