Program remote

I have an 04 Ram 1500 SLT I don't have any of the original remotes that came with the truck. I looked all over and found the same answer and that is to short plug 1 and 4 BUT plug 1 is not used and is empty. PLEASE HELP! I don’t want to have to take it to the dealer.
